Fenist the Falcon - Phoenix Puppets

Phoenix PRESS.jpg

Fenist the Falcon is an old much loved Russian Fairytale in which seven female characters appear.

A cast of rod, hand and string puppets take you on an adventure with Raisa, as she crosses the threshold between the worlds, in her quest to find her lost love.

Raisa receives help from strange and unexpected allies. Fenist is either a dreaming falcon, or a sleeping feather, but can she reawaken him as a man?

Performed by Phoenix Puppet Theatre, accompanied by original live music inspired by traditional Eastern Folk.

The tale is suitable for all ages, not just children.

Join us afterwards to ask questions and meet the puppets!

Tickets £5 adult / £3.50 child / £12.50 family (2 adults + 2 children)

from the Great Yorkshire Fringe website.

If you are unable to afford tickets, please contact to apply for a discretionary 50% discount.

Disabled Access
Due to the ‘work in progress’ state of the Arts Barge at this year’s festival, we regret that wheelchair access down to the performance space is not possible.

Through Riverside 2019 we aim to raise interest and funds to return in 2020 with full disabled access lift and toilet facilities.

In the meantime, the gang-planks onto the barge are wide and wheelchair users are very welcome to enjoy the deck area. Our Riverside marquee (24th - 28th July) is free and accessible to all. Accessible toilet facilities in St. George’s Field car park, will be available during all Arts Barge Riverside Festival opening hours.
